Kalamunda Performers isn’t just about classes – we love to showcase our skills on stage and have our hard work recognized! Over the years, our students and teachers have earned numerous awards and accolades, reflecting the passion and dedication we pour into our craft.
Our performance troupes have consistently impressed audiences and judges across a wide range of Perth-based competitions. Over the years, we’ve proudly received numerous 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards across styles including jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap and contemporary. We've also been recognised for outstanding choreography and performance, with overall high score awards and individual soloists achieving top honours such as State Champion titles and Theatrical Championship wins. KP was awarded Champion Studio in the local Starlight Dance Competition in July 2024.
But beyond the trophies, what matters most to us is the growth that happens along the way. Our approach to competition is all about building confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of camaraderie. We strive to create an environment where dancers feel supported, challenged, and proud of their progress—on and off the stage. Every season, our teams step out with passion, perform with heart, and cheer on fellow studios in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
National Recognition: Kalamunda Performers is proud to have been consistently recognised at the annual Ready Set Dance Awards, celebrating excellence among hundreds of studios worldwide.
In 2021, we were honoured with the Outstanding Achievement in Local Marketing Award and named Runner-Up for People’s Choice Ready Set Dance Studio of the Year.
In 2022, we received the Ready Set Dance Business Excellence Award, acknowledging our continued growth and commitment to quality preschool dance education.
In 2023, we were thrilled to be named the Ready Set Dance Business of the Year, a testament to the passion, energy, and dedication of our preschool faculty.
Most recently, in 2025, we were once again recognised as a national finalist, continuing our tradition of excellence and innovation in early childhood dance.
Every year, being selected as a finalist among hundreds of studios globally is an incredible honour—and a reflection of the heart we put into every Ready Set Dance class. These achievements drive us to keep evolving, inspiring, and creating magic for our tiniest dancers.
At Kalamunda Performers, we’re incredibly proud of the passionate and talented educators who bring our preschool and performance programs to life. Their dedication has been recognised time and time again on both state and national levels.
In 2021 and 2022, Miss Zeffie was honoured as the People’s Choice Ready Set Ballet Teacher of the Year, a reflection of her warmth, creativity, and the lasting impact she has on her students.
In 2024, Miss Jemma was awarded Gold Teacher of the Year at the Ready Set Dance Awards—an incredible achievement that highlights her leadership and excellence in delivering our preschool program.
Many of our Bronze, Silver, and Gold certified Ready Set Dance teachers have also been finalists in various categories over the years, proudly representing KP among hundreds of studios worldwide.
In our competition program, Miss Shanice and Miss Chloe have both received Adjudicator’s Awards for Choreography, showcasing their creative vision and the high standard of performance they inspire in their students.
These achievements are more than just accolades—they’re a reflection of the heart, skill, and commitment our teachers bring to every class, every week.
Within our studio, we also celebrate our dancers’ dedication. Each year at our end-of-year concert, we present special awards like the “Anna DeGroot Highest Achievement Award” and the “Angela Jowett Highest Achievement Award” to a Junior & Senior student who has shown exceptional growth and dedication. These awards encourage students to push themselves and applaud their commitment.
While we’re proud of our awards, we always emphasize that competitions are just one part of the journey. We encourage students who are interested in competing to join our comp teams for the experience – it teaches goal-setting, teamwork, and resilience. However, we remind our dancers that trophies are icing on the cake; the true reward is in the improvement and camaraderie that come from the process. You’ll often hear our team cheering loudest for each other and even for dancers from other schools, because we believe in celebrating every dancer’s success.
